Republic of Ireland international Shane Duffy has signed for Derby County on a two-month loan deal.
The Championship strugglers lie in 23rd place in the league table, and have mustered just a single win so far this season.
Duffy, 34, has been a free agent since leaving Norwich at the end of last season, bringing an end to a three-season stint with the Canaries.
Derby are in the midst of a severe injury crisis in defence, with six first-team defenders all out injured at the moment. Duffy had been on trial for the past two weeks with the Rams, and has done enough to earn himself a short-term contract.
With over 500 appearances in professional football, and 61 Ireland caps in the bag, Duffy brings much-needed experience to a heavily depleted Derby.
The 34-year-old will link up with manager John Eustace, one of Stephen Kenny's many former assistants from his time as Ireland boss.
