Scott Kellacher was rightfully happy with how his Inverness Caledonian Thistle side played to beat Raith Rovers in “ridiculous” conditions.
A first half double from Alfie Stewart was enough to earn all three points for Caley Thistle in Kirkcaldy, as the elements battered Stark’s Park.
The victory saw Inverness remain in the Championship’s top four, now just sitting two points behind Raith in the table after 12 matches.
“I’m absolutely delighted with our all-round performance,” Kellacher told club media after the game.
“I thought we were excellent in the first half, passing the ball around really well to create good chances, and we took them today.
“We wanted to go after it and make things happen, which is really pleasing because this is a hard place to come. Raith are having a good season, so we would have been happy to come away with a point, but we got three.
“I was even happier with the second-half performance, because we knew they would throw everything at us, but we held our shape and looked strong on the counter attack.
“I’m really happy, because as I say it’s a difficult place to come, and the boys put in a brilliant performance.
“Dougie Imrie has done a brilliant job (with Raith) and they have really good players that can hurt you. The thing is, we’ve got really good players as well, and we need to back ourselves that bit more from time to time.
“They are starting to gain more belief, and putting in a performance like that here and coming away with three points will certainly give them that.”
Kellacher also had praise for goalscorer Stewart, but reiterated the bigger picture of it being a single result in a much longer season.
“Alfie is a threat with everything he does, and he knows how to score goals,” Kellacher added.
“He arrives in the box at the right time, and he picks his positions brilliantly to finish things off. He might have had a hat-trick, but the keeper pulled off a great save.
“I’m really happy. It’s only three points on the board though, so we need to keep chipping away.
“I would also really like to say thanks to all the fans who travelled down, because the conditions are ridiculous. I’m really glad we managed to put in a performance for them.”
