The 2026 Formula 1 season heads from Mexico City straight to Interlagos in Brazil for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, from 6-8 November.

Italian Kimi Antonelli is the new drivers' world champion after sealing the title with a third-place finish at the Mexico City Grand Prix.

The 20-year-old Mercedes driver is now the youngest world champion in the history of F1, beating previous record holder Sebastian Vettel by three years.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen won the race in Mexico, with Lewis Hamilton finishing second. The victory lifts Dutchman Verstappen to second in the standings, two points ahead of Ferrari's Hamilton.

Lights out for the 71-lap grand prix on Sunday is at 17:00 GMT.

Commentary of the race will be available across BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra, BBC Sounds and the BBC Sport website and app.

The early forecast predicts we could be in for a changeable weekend in Sao Paulo.

Friday is looking rainy initially but it should clear before the practice sessions, while Saturday could feature thundery showers during the fight for pole position in qualifying.

For Sunday's grand prix, which starts at 2pm local time, drizzle is expected with a high of 18C.
