Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc's latest scuffle at the Mexican Grand Prix has got the media in Italy talking, and one outlet has raised fresh questions over Ferrari's driver pairing.

The incident in question happened after a dramatic start to the race at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, where Hamilton lined up on pole for lights out with Leclerc in P3.

By the time the two Ferrari drivers got to turn one, Hamilton had kept his lead, but Leclerc had another opportunity heading into turn four, trying to make a move stick around the outside. Ultimately, though, he ran out of track, and drove across the grass, cutting turn five.

Leclerc gained the lead as a result of this, and while Hamilton also went off track after turn four, he made it back between the white lines for turn five and yielded second position to Max Verstappen.

Immediately, Hamilton was not happy, fuming over the radio: "Pushed out by my own team-mate."

Hamilton's frustrations only amplified when he was told that Leclerc had only been given a five-second time penalty, with 10 seconds the usual punishment in that scenario.

"The stewards are basically handing Charles this win. We agreed in the drivers' briefing," a frustrated Hamilton told his team, arguing that the penalty was not enough given Leclerc had gained the advantage of running out front in clean air.

While the Italian media had Kimi Antonelli's title win to focus on, the Ferrari drama has not gone unnoticed. A report from il Giornale writes that there is 'no respect left' between Hamilton and Leclerc at Ferrari in its headline and offers a stark warning.

"Rags are flying. It was in the air. If the rising tension isn't managed, it's inevitable that sooner or later everything will explode. Vasseur should have been tougher before, not after," Umberto Zapelloni wrote.

Later on, Zapelloni questioned how Ferrari can find peace before accusing the Scuderia of failing to 'purify' their diamond in the rough, Leclerc.

"It won't be easy to restore peace between the two feuding rivals. Hamilton used harsh words that leave no room for misunderstanding," he continued.

"Charles's story speaks of other family tensions with Vettel and Sainz. He even collided with Seb in Brazil. Ferrari placed a lot of hope in him, but failed to protect him or help him grow. They held a rough diamond in their hands and failed to purify it. Exactly the opposite of what Mercedes did with Kimi. This lesson also came from the Mexican GP."

The Ferrari stars will be back on track at this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paulo.

Whether or not the serious talks Hamilton demanded after Mexico will have taken place by then remains to be seen.
