If the pressure of the Ibrox hotseat burns, McInnes is showing no sign of feeling the heat.
The Rangers boss kicked off his press conference on Wednesday with a gag as he teased STV's Raman Bhardwaj over his choice of coat, likening his fashion call to that of the BBC's dapper Jonathan Sutherland.
It was a bit of fun, but that's the type of fun Old Firm managers can only really indulge in when things are going well.
And that's certainly the case for McInnes after seeing off Aberdeen to book a place in the League Cup Final against Hibs at Hampden next month.
The belief being felt by the boss is being replicated in the stands ahead of a defining run of fixtures, and McInnes knows it is his job to ensure Rangers supporters have a team they can get behind.
Speaking ahead of the weekend clash with St Mirren, he said: "Well, I think it's your job to try and give the supporters a team that they can believe in and something they can get behind.
"I think that's clear. There's still loads of work ahead of us, but getting to the cup final and hopefully going on and winning it just kind of validates a lot of what we're trying to do.
"But equally, if we don't win that game, questions will be asked. So I think, on a weekly basis, you're having to keep coming up with wins and we are pleased with the form.
"I think in the league it's seven wins and two draws, which is good shooting. That would get you close to it if you can replicate that sort of momentum.
"And in the cups, we've had three tough games against St Mirren, Celtic and Aberdeen and we've got a cup final to look forward to.
"So I think you've got to take the good from getting to a cup final and, when it comes around, hopefully we can be in decent form."
