Man Utd January transfer set for ‘here we go’ as Romano confirms advanced talks
Fabrizio Romano gives transfer update

Fabrizio Romano will soon be able to give JJ Gabriel’s prospective transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid his ‘here we go’ confirmation, the journalist has stated.

Gabriel asked Man Utd to terminate his contract in September, feeling he had not been given the first-team opportunities he believes he deserves. United were never going to agree to ending his deal, and they instead tried to convince the forward to reconsider his stance.

However, Gabriel and his family have rejected all of United’s attempts to resolve the situation, as they are determined to secure a transfer to an illustrious club abroad.

Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have all spoken with Gabriel’s camp, but Real Madrid have emerged as strong favourites for his signature.

Romano has now revealed on YouTube that a ‘verbal agreement’ between the 16-year-old sensation and Madrid is ‘almost there’, with talks entering the final stages.

He said: “Get ready, because one of the first ‘here we go’ for 2027 is coming, and it’s gonna be JJ Gabriel to Real Madrid.

“Not a surprise this one, I told you since September. I told you Real Madrid are pushing, leading the race for weeks.

“And now, the agreement is almost done between JJ Gabriel and Real Madrid.

“Nothing will be signed this week in terms of [an] official statement. So, [for] formal steps, we have to be a little bit more patient.

“But in terms of verbal agreement, we are almost there.

“On Thursday evening, JJ Gabriel camp informed all the interested clubs: ‘Thank you for your interest, but JJ Gabriel picks Real Madrid. JJ Gabriel believes Real Madrid are offering the best project possible.’

“It’s happening – the deal is going to happen.

“They [Madrid] want to be careful of the legal point of view. When to sign, how to communicate with Man Utd, [and] not to enter into any legal battle between the two clubs.

“Real Madrid always want to make sure everything is ok with top clubs.”

JJ Gabriel to ‘disrupt’ development with move – Giggs

On Wednesday, David Ornstein revealed that Gabriel is ‘expected to sign for Madrid’ in January. Ornstein added that the wonderkid is ‘set to join on [a] long-term contract’ subject to FIFA regulations.

In an interview with Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs was quizzed about the Gabriel saga. He replied: “So far in his career everything is going fine, why would you disrupt that? You’re on the right track.

“I trained at 15, I didn’t play for the first team until two years later so you have to have that patience that people just don’t seem to have at the moment.

“And believe it or not, first-team football for Man United is completely different to playing in the youth team, playing pre-season for the first team, it’s completely different.

“That first game, yeah, you might do alright, but you have to do it for 40, 50 games a season. You’re going to get injuries, loss of form, bad results, so you have to be patient.

“If you’re on the right trajectory then just bide your time, no matter how good you are.

“Max Dowman is unbelievable but he’s not playing for Arsenal at the moment.

“I’m sure he’ll bide his time, I’m sure he’s getting impatient, but he’s not kicking off, he knows in a couple of years time he might be the main man for Arsenal.”
