After a rough start to the season, the Green Bay Packers are finally building some momentum. At 5-3, they are in the thick of the playoff race in the NFC, and they have their quarterback to thank for keeping them afloat through the early part of the year.

Throughout the season, Jordan Love has had to make do with a suspect offensive line and a sub-par rushing offense. Now, after a stellar Week 8 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football, he is forcing the football world to take notice.

Jordan Love Impresses The NFL World In Week 8 Win

For a team that ranks at #24 in PFN’s Offensive Line Impact Metric, and whose lead running back for most of the year, MarShawn Lloyd, ranked at #44 in PFN’s Running Back Impact Metric, the Packers scoring over 21 points a game is a testament to Love’s mettle.

Love has thrown for 1,958 yards and 13 touchdowns against five interceptions, continuing to carry much of Green Bay’s offensive production. But against the Panthers, he had one of his best outings of the year, completing over 73% of his passes to finish with 288 yards and three touchdowns against one interception.

“Jordan Love is back to his MVP-caliber ways,”Emmanuel Acho announced. “Ya love to see it!”

On his podcast, “Speakeasy,” the praise for Love continued, as LeSean McCoy gave him flowers for the type of season he’s having.

“Jordan Love is the type of quarterback we thought he was. And he’s made the Packers right. When we had this quarterback who had one year to show how good he was, he balled out, and they paid him right away. It wasn’t a mistake. It was the right move. And now, he’s playing it like it. Now, he’s more consistent.”

Admitting that he struggled with some inconsistency issues last season, McCoy believes Love has taken the next step in his development. As a result, he also saw him making a potential push for the MVP award.

“Jordan Love is special. I think Jordan Love is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL,” Damien Woody said, adding to the praise while on the “Scoreboard” on CBS. “They have no semblance of a running game, their offensive line has been in shambles all season long, but game in and game out, Jordan Love just goes out there and puts on a show.”

Former Packers quarterback Kurt Benkert also had immense praise for Love’s performance in Week 8, writing, “Jordan Love is a surgeon tonight.”

It remains to be seen if Love can continue this momentum for the rest of the season. But right now, he’s functioning like a true superstar quarterback, and with Micah Parsons set to return sooner rather than later, it could make the Packers a legitimate threat in the NFC.
