Liverpool target MLS wonderkid as Barcelona face transfer setback

Liverpool could have an opportunity to pursue one of American football’s brightest young talents, with Cavan Sullivan attracting interest from several European giants.

The 17-year-old Philadelphia Union midfielder has a pre-agreement linked to a future move to Manchester City, but uncertainty surrounding City’s situation has prompted other clubs to monitor his future.

Liverpool Monitoring Cavan Sullivan’s Situation

According to reports from Spanish outlet Sport, Liverpool are among the clubs previously interested in Sullivan, alongside Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

The attacking midfielder has impressed with his performances in MLS, earning a reputation as one of the most exciting young prospects in American football. His technical ability, creativity and attacking output make him a talent worth monitoring.

Sullivan is expected to join Manchester City when he becomes eligible to move to England, but his future is not entirely settled.

His agent has acknowledged the uncertainty, saying: “You never know what can happen, and we hope they sort it out in the best possible way.”

Could Liverpool Make a Move?

Liverpool would face competition from some of Europe’s biggest clubs if Sullivan’s planned move to City were to change.

However, reported interest does not mean the Reds have made a formal offer, and the existing agreement remains an important factor.

What this means for Liverpool: Sullivan could become an intriguing long-term target if his Manchester City move falls through, but there is currently no confirmation that Liverpool are preparing a bid.
