Liverpool step up pursuit of 21-year-old Russia international amid interest from Barcelona and PSG

Liverpool continue to assess potential additions to their attacking options as the club looks towards future transfer windows. One name attracting attention is Galatasaray midfielder Aleksey Batrakov, although the Reds could face serious competition from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The 21-year-old has made an impressive start to life in Turkey following his summer move from Lokomotiv Moscow.

His performances have reportedly caught Liverpool’s attention, but Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also keeping tabs on his situation.

Liverpool Transfer News: Batrakov Attracts European Interest

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool and Arsenal have stepped up their interest in Batrakov after sending scouts to watch him during Galatasaray’s 4-2 Champions League victory over Lille. The Russian midfielder found the net in that match, further strengthening his growing reputation.

Liverpool are not alone in monitoring the youngster. Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City have also been credited with interest, while Barcelona and PSG remain potential destinations.

Batrakov joined Galatasaray from Lokomotiv Moscow in August for €25million and has quickly made an impact. The attacking midfielder has reportedly contributed goals in European competition, with his technical quality, creativity and ability to threaten the opposition goal making him an attractive prospect.

One of the most significant details surrounding his future is a reported release clause worth around £50million. The clause is understood to allow him to leave Galatasaray for a club in one of Europe’s top four leagues, potentially giving Liverpool a clear route to pursuing a deal.

However, Galatasaray are reportedly pleased with their summer signing and have little desire to sell him so soon after his arrival.

TEAMtalk also reports that Barcelona have monitored Batrakov for some time, while PSG continue to be viewed as a possible destination. Both clubs could offer strong competition if Liverpool decide to turn their scouting interest into a concrete move.

What This Means for Liverpool

For Liverpool, Batrakov represents a potential opportunity to secure a highly regarded young attacking midfielder with considerable room for development. His creativity and goal threat could make him an interesting option as the club continues to assess its long-term attacking plans.

The reported £50million release clause provides some clarity over the financial side of a possible transfer. Nevertheless, Liverpool would still need to convince the player that Anfield is the right destination, particularly with Barcelona and PSG reportedly capable of appealing to him.

A January move appears less realistic, with Galatasaray having little interest in losing a player they only signed in the summer. A deal next summer could be a more plausible scenario if Liverpool maintain their interest.

For now, the Reds’ reported scouting activity suggests Batrakov is firmly on their radar, but there is no indication that a formal bid has been submitted. Liverpool will need to continue monitoring his progress before deciding whether to pursue the £50million-rated midfielder.
