Wrexham fan walking to Blackburn game in memory of dad

Josh Parr will walk from Wrexham AFC's Racecourse Ground to Ewood Park, home of Blackburn Rovers, ahead of Saturday's match between the two sides.

Josh's dad, Reginald Mosley, tragically died of a blood clot a decade ago, aged 54.

The challenge is being undertaken in aid of Thrombosis UK, a charity dedicated to supporting people affected by blood clots and raising awareness of the condition.

Josh said he wanted to mark the anniversary of his father's death by taking on a unique fundraising challenge.

He said: "In October I will be taking on this challenge to raise money in memory of my dad who I lost 10 years ago.

"I will be swapping my regular match day routine of getting the train with a few beers, to instead setting off a few days earlier and walking from the Racecourse Ground to Ewood Park to enjoy the game.

"I miss him massively, football isn't the same without him complaining about every decision. It's a massive challenge, and I'm hoping to raise some vital funds in his memory."

The walk will cover the 73-mile distance between Wrexham and Blackburn over several days, culminating in Josh arriving at Ewood Park in time for the fixture.

By taking on the challenge, Josh hopes to raise funds for Thrombosis UK while also increasing awareness of the dangers posed by blood clots, which can affect people of all ages and backgrounds.

Supporters have been rallying behind the fundraiser, with over £1,600 raised for the charity.
