Nebraska football remains agonizingly close to a bowl berth.
But following heartbreaking losses to Indiana and Oregon in consecutive weeks, the Cornhuskers will have to wait two more Saturdays before they can seal a trip to a bowl game.
As it stands, Matt Rhule and Co. have a 5-2 record, including a 2-2 mark in Big Ten play. The next challenge for the team will be getting healthy and rested for a stretch run to end the season, beginning first with a home game vs. Washington on Halloween.
Here's a look at Nebraska's remaining schedule as the Cornhuskers continue aiming for a bowl game and potentially more over the back half of the 2026 college football season:
Nebraska will not play in Week 8, getting Saturday, Oct. 24, off as it prepares for the final five games of the regular season.
Nebraska's next game will be at home at Memorial Stadium vs. Jedd Fisch and Washington (4-3, 1-3 Big Ten). Despite being recent conference opponents, the Cornhuskers and Huskies have only played 10 times in their programs' histories. Nebraska enjoys a slim 5-4-1 lead over Washington, including a 51-38 win in the teams' last meeting in 2011.
