Indiana Fever President Kelly Krauskopf has decided to step down from her role after 26 years with the franchise.
Since the inception of the team, Krauskopf has been a vital part of everything the organisation has done. She was the General Manager of the team until 2012 and was then promoted to the Team President position.
After briefly leaving the Fever, she worked within the Pacers Sports and Entertainment organisation, holding roles with Pacers Gaming and then moving to the Indiana Pacers as the Assistant GM before returning to the Fever as the Team President in 2024.
She has been part of all the history the Fever have made since 2000, including their championship win in 2012.
Not just the Fever, Krauskopf was integral to the formation of the WNBA as she served as the first Director of Operations. Despite her contributions to the sport, fans expressed a lot of happiness after it was announced that she was stepping down from the role.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to help build and steward the Indiana Fever with the support and trust of Herb Simon,” Krauskopf said in a statement. “I am deeply grateful for the opportunities, relationships, and shared accomplishments that have shaped my time with this organization. The Fever is poised for an exciting future, and I am proud to have helped lay the foundation for its continued growth and success. I will always cherish my time with Pacers Sports and Entertainment and the people who made it so meaningful.”
Although she has been part of everything the Fever have built, the controversies surrounding the team since her arrival in 2024 have raised a lot of question marks around her ability to lead the franchise.
The Fever have arguably the biggest star in WNBA history – Caitlin Clark. However, the franchise has failed to build a contending roster around her. The coach and GM have also been under fire, which is why when she Krauskopf, announced that she would be stepping down, fans demanded a complete overhaul.

“Keep it going Herb! Your fanbase is begging for a complete overhaul – new Coach, new GM. He**, even new medical staff. Please!” said one fan.
While another added: “It’s a start, keep the house cleaning going!!”
Someone also stated: “Please take Amber Cox, Linn Dunn and Stephanie White with you.”
An X user opined: “I don’t see Amber Cox staying after this. It’s probably going to be another overhaul like the one that came after the 2024 season.”
“She only came back to chase clout. Her heart was never in it this time around,” a fan remarked.
In the statement, it was revealed that Krasukopf made the decision and informed the team before the end of the 2026 season. The Fever are yet to announce a replacement and as the WNBA is in the offseason, they might take some time to determine who the replacement is going to be. They are one of the most watched teams in the league, as they have a superstar in Clark, which is why whoever is appointed should have the ability to maximise the full potential of the team and Clark.
