Manchester City are back at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon, ready to face a familiar opponent. Brighton come into this one with revenge on their minds after losing 4-3 on penalties to the Blues on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup fourth round.

Enzo Maresca made a host of changes to his side in midweek. Five of his first-team squad were given a three-day break following the Aston Villa defeat, so did not feature against the Seagulls. Gianluigi Donnarumma was one of those, but he has been confirmed as the starting goalkeeper to face Brighton.

Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Elliot Anderson and Erling Haaland are all expected to come straight back into the team after their breaks. However, there are a couple of injury concerns heading into the game. MEN Sport has taken a look at the latest injury news from the Etihad Stadium.

Matheus Nunes

Injury: Groin

After his full-back missed the trip to Villa last weekend, Maresca confirmed that he could make the squad to face Brighton on Wednesday night. However, he was missing from that team too. Speaking about Nunes in his press conference on Friday, Maresca said: "They are all available. Only Antoine Semenyo [out], the rest, they are all available."

Potential return date: October 31 vs Brighton

Iliman Ndiaye

Injury: Cramp

After his assist against Villa, there were concerns over the forward's fitness. Having been replaced after clutching his leg, Maresca was asked about Ndiaye's fitness on Saturday. The City boss played down any fears surrounding his fitness, admitting he was just suffering from cramp. He made the bench on Wednesday night but did not come on.

Potential return date: October 31 vs Brighton

Antoine Semenyo

Injury: Leg

Semenyo is a long-term absentee for Maresca and City. The head coach confirmed this week that Semenyo is in good spirits but it is too early to work out when he may return to the team.

Potential return date: December
