The Blues took the lead through Florentino and looked in total control prior to the interval, but the Tigers struck twice through Tim Iroegbunam and Oli McBurnie after the restart.
Julio Enciso’s stunner levelled things up again heading into the final 15 minutes, but neither side could find a way to take all three points, with Davis frustrated by the fact that his side couldn’t find a third.
“I think you can see by the lads coming off the pitch, I think we're disappointed in just a point,” he said.
“We dominated a lot of the game, controlled the full game I would say as well.
“It’s just two sloppy goals really, again, but we controlled the game over 90 minutes. We were the better team all the way through the game. They had a little spell in the second half where they did get the momentum from the crowd and stuff like that.
“We were the better team today. I think you could see that if you watched the game back, or if you were watching the game. We were frustrating them, especially in the first half as well.

“We probably should have got more than one goal in the first half, but that's down to decision making when we're in the final third. Making that extra pass like Abdoul [Ouattara] did for Florentino's goal.
“It's just moments like that where you need to know that someone's going to be in a better position than the person that's on the ball.
“It's frustrating, but there's a lot of positives to take from the game. We came here last year and you can see the difference in the team that we have now, and the qualities that we have.
“We're frustrated, but we deserve more than just a point from the game.”
Ipswich had chances to score more than just two goals, and Davis revealed that referee Thomas Kirk had told them that a shirt tug on Dara O’Shea during a corner should have resulted in a spot kick.
“I think we should have had a pen in the game as well, for Dara,” the left-back argued. “But that's the game, you know what I mean? You're not going to get everything.
“I don't want to say it, but the ref did say that Dara should have had a pen, but we scored a few minutes later. I didn't think it was a few minutes later. It was still a while after that happened.

“We've just got to learn from the mistakes as well. There's still a lot to learn. A lot of chances we created that we need to put to bed or find our final pass. I think that's when we will start to kick on more, score more goals. Not one or two goals.
“The main thing is keeping those clean sheets as well. As a defensive unit, we want to keep pushing in that area of the game. We defended well for the majority of the game, and then there were just two moments of the game where mistakes happened.
“You’re playing in the best league in the world, you're going to get punished. People might say these are two teams that came up last year, but we're two teams that have pushed ourselves in the first nine games of the season to show why both clubs should be in the Premier League.
“We knew it was going to be a tough game. We've just got to keep going and working hard every day in training – like we always do – and keep kicking on.”
Nonetheless, Ipswich are in a strong spot. There’s no shame in failing to beat a team who are unbeaten on home soil since March, with Hull taking points off the likes of Manchester United, Aston Villa, Everton and Brentford.

This isn’t a result that takes a shine off an impressive start to the season.
“11 points,” Davis stressed. “We're in a good position. It’s a better position than we were in last time.
“There’s a lot of positives to take. It’s still early doors, still a lot of games to go. Plenty of games to go.
“There are a lot of positives to take. A lot of points to play for and on the board.
“We want to start winning games, because we dominate a lot of games. We’ve been the dominant team in the majority of the games we've played. Probably not Man City, but we want in the game at 3-2.
“It's moments of the game where, even if we don't have the ball for a lot of the game. Today, we had control of the ball for a lot of the game, but we need to punish people when we do get in those areas of the pitch as well.
“Like I said before, it’s that final pass, the final detail of when to shoot, when not to shoot, or when to pass.
“I think that’s a big area that we can just tidy up, and then I think we'll be good from there.”
