Having only secured two wins out of their 10 games played across all compeitions this season, Michael Carrick treads on fine ice as United have just become the first English side in history to concede inside the first 2 minutes of consecutive major European matches- first Atletico Madrid last week, and Como yesterday.
However, the humilating nature of the event goes further as the 4-1 loss to Como yesterday marks the third time in Champions League history that United have found themselves four goals down. The first dates back to 1958 semi finals in which they took a 4-0 battering from AC Milan, and second was the 1994 group stages 4-0 whooping from FC Barcelona.
While Joshua Zirkzee managed to redeem just one goal for his side in the 91st minute, Michael Carrick's career has come under serious threat as this latest 4-1 defeat to Como may have just marked the most humiliating defeat in the English club's history.
