‘Feels Like a No-Brainer,’ ‘Packers Should Call Baltimore’ — NFL World Weighs In on Derrick Henry Trade Rumors After Ravens’ TNF Loss

The Baltimore Ravens are clearly struggling to keep their season on track, and their latest loss has raised questions about whether Derrick Henry still fits their plans.

With the trade deadline approaching, the discussion has moved beyond one bad night in Baltimore. NFL insiders and analysts are now weighing whether Henry could finish the season somewhere else.

NFL Insiders React to Derrick Henry Trade Rumors After Ravens’ Loss

Baltimore’s 33-10 defeat against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night gave trade speculation fresh momentum.

The Ravens fell to 4-5, with Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley both on injured reserve. Rookie Joe Fagnano managed just 60 passing yards and threw two interceptions in his first NFL start, leaving Henry without much support from the passing game.

Henry, who ranks 15th in PFN NFL RB Impact, finished with 57 rushing yards on 17 carries. He has failed to reach 60 yards in four consecutive games and is now averaging 3.9 yards per carry, a career low. With his 33rd birthday approaching in January, his timeline may not match Baltimore’s uncertain season.

Clay Travis believes the Ravens should consider moving him rather than wasting the remaining years of his career. He posted on X, “The Ravens should trade Derrick Henry to a contender. The season is done, and Henry doesn’t have that many years left to play. Feels like a no-brainer.”

Pittsburgh Steelers writer Jarrett Bailey also identified a possible destination, suggesting, “The Packers should call Baltimore about Derrick Henry.”

The speculation gained more weight when A to Z Sports’ Austin Stanley reported interest from two teams. He wrote, “Derrick Henry could be playing his last game with the Baltimore Ravens tonight. Sources tell A to Z Sports that two teams have emerged with serious interest in trading for the future Hall of Fame running back before next week’s trade deadline. Keep both eyes open on this one.”

Another reporter, John Frascella, posted, “Yeah… Derrick Henry bout to be on a different team.”

NFL reporter Justin Ramos also saw a potential deal as a tad more realistic after the loss, writing, “I think right after this game that the Ravens could actually trade Derrick Henry.”

Patriots-focused radio host Nick Cattles questioned the financial and roster value of such a move for New England, despite praising Henry’s ability. “Derrick Henry is one of the best. But this makes no sense: RB is WAY down the priority list. You have only so many assets to deal after AJB. He turns 33 in January and has a $16.2M cap hit next year. Thanks, but no thanks,” Cattles wrote.

Henry’s contract could make him an attractive deadline acquisition. His 2026 base salary is just $1.3 million, leaving approximately $650,000 for a new team to pay over the remainder of the season. He is also scheduled to receive $12 million in non-guaranteed compensation in 2027, including an $11 million base salary and a $1 million roster bonus.

The New England Patriots, New York Giants, and Minnesota Vikings have been linked to potential backfield upgrades in reports.

With the Nov. 10 trade deadline approaching, Baltimore must decide whether Henry remains part of its plans or could bring back useful draft capital.
