The 'La Roja' boss amassed 167 points, while the PSG manager had to settle for 117, with the pair standing as the only contenders to poll substantial tallies in the voting.

Mikel Arteta followed in third place with a modest 15 points, though the remaining two nominees fared considerably worse. Aston Villa manager Unai Emery picked up just a single point, while Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany failed to register a single one.

De la Fuente earned recognition from 96 of the 100 journalists on the panel, with 71 selecting him as their first choice. A further 25 international voters ranked him second, while only four placed him third or lower.
