Conor McGregor was visibly horrified after watching a fighter suffer a gruesome injury on Tuesday.

‘Notorious’ was sitting ringside at Hype Fighting’s event in Rome, Italy, which was headlined by Colby Covington’s shock 43-second submission defeat to Raul Rosas Jr.

However, it was a fight on the undercard that drew the biggest reaction from one of MMA’s greatest legends.

Conor McGregor cringes at Hype FC injury

Conor McGregor watched as an epic bare-knuckle boxing brawl broke out between Francesco Morandi and Ali Heibati at the PalaPellicone.

Sadly, the fight ended with Morandi screaming in agony after sustaining an apparent injury to his leg.

A ringside camera caught McGregor putting his hands to his face as soon as the injury occurred in round one.

“Conor McGregor, of course, watching at ringside,” commentator Robin Black said on the broadcast.

“He just went through this himself not long ago, blowing out his knee early in a fight.

“He can 100 percent relate to this. That man just experienced that.

“That’s the face of a man who is reliving an experience.”

Conor McGregor knows the pain of a fight-ending injury

Conor McGregor’s latest injury setback came five years after he famously broke his leg during his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.

The 38-year-old was hoping to put his injury nightmare behind him when he finally returned to the Octagon against Max Holloway.

Instead, McGregor suffered another devastating setback just 69 seconds into his highly anticipated comeback fight.

‘Mystic Mac’ subsequently announced that he would need surgery to repair his damaged knee.

McGregor has yet to return to action since the defeat, and it remains unclear when he will be fit enough to fight again.
