Celtic midfielder Joel van den Berg has been spotted training at Lennoxtown ahead of their home match against Dundee United on Wednesday night.
Van den Berg joined Celtic from PSV for a £3.4 million fee on deadline day of the summer window. The 19-year-old signed a four-year deal with an option of a further year.
He’s yet to make his senior debut for the Hoops, but was named among the substitutes for the September games against St Mirren and St Johnstone.

He was later spotted in a moon boot on his arrival at Celtic Park before the defeat to Rangers on September 20. That prompted many to wonder when he would be fully fit and ready to begin the next chapter of his career.
Recent reports suggested the club would look to loan him out in January should minutes remain limited. CeltsAreHere understands that the midfielder has not been told this is the case, with the priority being to get him fit and ready to feature for the first team.
There’s now been a positive update regarding his fitness. Van den Berg was pictured training at Lennoxtown alongside his teammates, though it’s unclear whether he’ll be in the frame for a spot on the bench on Wednesday night.

It’s a promising sign, especially given how highly he’s rated back in the Netherlands.
Whether the teenager is given the green light to debut soon or not, it’s a step in the right direction. Supporters will be interested to see what he can bring to the team.
Callum McGregor, Mika Baur and Benjamin Nygren remain the first choices, with the likes of Oliver Sorensen and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain having featured under Martin O’Neill this season.
Van den Berg may be one for the future, but seeing him back on the grass is a bit of welcome news.
