Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has been transported to hospital after collapsing following a training session, it has been reported.
Kompany was taken to hospital by ambulance, it has been reported, with a helicopter having earlier landed at Bayern's training ground. According to Sky Sports Germany, the Belgian is in a stable condition.
BILD, who initially reported details of the incident involving Kompany, said that the 40-year-old wanted to watch the U23 side train before collapsing - at which point a rescue helicopter was dispatched. No further updates have been given at this stage, with Bayern yet to provide official comment.
Kompany has been suffering from a viral infection and remained in the dugout during Saturday's 6-1 win over RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. He was a doubt to appear on the touchline for Wednesday's clash against Arsenal in the Champions League, but he did return to the Allianz Arena for the fixture.
His assistant manager Aaron Danks took on pre-match press duties instead prior to the Arsenal fixture, and said that Kompany had contracted a virus which had 'affected his legs'.
"The doctors, the experts, know way more than I do," Danks stated. "The most important thing we've just encouraged is that he rests, he takes the time he needs, whatever that may be, however long that may be. Getting Vince to rest is a challenge."
Kompany did appear for his post-match press conference after the 2-2 draw on Wednesday, during which he was asked for an update on his recovery:
"A virus, that's correct. Everything else is just okay, normal, human things," he said. "As a coach, you want to do everything. I had a strong virus, didn't listen to my body."
