Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are set for another showdown at WWE Crown Jewel after their rivalry intensified during the October 23 episode of SmackDown.
With both men unwilling to back down, their latest confrontation led to a match announcement that could push their feud to another level.
The pair have already traded victories in 2026, but Rhodes’ recent actions have added a more aggressive edge to their rivalry.
Now, their next meeting will come under a stipulation that matches the intensity of the feud.
Randy Orton opened the segment by praising Rhodes for finally showing a more ruthless side, following his punt kick to Baron Corbin the previous week. However, the Viper remained convinced that Rhodes would hesitate if he had to deliver the same move against him.
Cody Rhodes came to the ring and demanded a fight, prompting SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis to step in and propose a meeting at Crown Jewel. Rhodes then made his preferred stipulation clear.
“I don’t think you’re listening to what I’m saying,” Rhodes told Orton. “You want me to wrestle Randy Orton? Okay, I’ll wrestle Randy Orton. But, it’s not just any match. Last Man Standing.”
Orton accepted the challenge but warned Rhodes that he would have to live with the consequences of his decision. With the stipulation in place, there will be no disqualifications to end the contest, and the winner must leave his opponent unable to answer the referee’s count.
Their rivalry has already featured two major encounters this year. Rhodes defeated Orton at WrestleMania 42, but Orton evened the score in their non-title grudge match at Sunday Night’s Main Event in September.
The Viper has repeatedly questioned whether Rhodes has the killer instinct required to beat him. Rhodes’ recent punt kick on Corbin suggests that he is willing to cross lines he previously avoided, setting up another test against his former mentor.
Crown Jewel is scheduled for November 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With the Last Man Standing stipulation now confirmed, Rhodes and Orton will have another chance to settle their differences — this time, the final man standing will have the last word.
