Wednesday started off with a bang for Mark Pope and Kentucky basketball. After beating Manhattan on Tuesday night, the Wildcats landed a commitment from 2027 center Cherif Millogo, giving them a second major recruit for next year's class.
Millogo is a 7'4", 250 lb center from Burkina Faso who plays his high school basketball in California. He is rated four stars by every service, and is ranked as a top 25 recruit. He's as high as No. 8 in the class by ESPN.
As reported by Joe Tipton on On3, Millogo has committed to Kentucky, as was predicted by most analysts. He joins four-star wing Ryan Hampton as Wildcats commits for next year, and gives Pope what should be his best recruiting class so far.
It's a huge addition for Kentucky. Millogo obviously has unteachable size, but he's also a very good athlete, capable of taking over games. He could skyrocket in the rankings over the next year, as he gets a chance to round out his game before heading to Lexington.
