The first XV have claimed six wins from eight matches and sit third in the National League Second Division, while the second XV Reds are leading their division outright.
Paterson said: "There’s a real spring in the step at The Gytes as Peebles head into a three-week break from league action.
"The 1st XV are sitting joint second in their league, while The Reds are leading theirs outright, giving both sides plenty to smile about.
"Six wins from the opening eight games is an excellent return, although the two defeats still rankle, particularly as both could easily have gone our way."
Paterson highlighted the club’s refreshed attacking style, adding: "The new attacking approach, built around a bit more pace, power and punch, is starting to click, while the work of Lewis Carmichael and Matty Carryer on the lineout is already paying handsome dividends. There’s plenty more to come from both."
He also credited the depth of the squad and the impact of the expanded coaching team.
He said: "The playing group remains strong, with fresh faces from the Colts, some familiar faces returning and an expanded coaching team bringing new ideas and energy."
The Reds have also been instrumental in creating a pathway to senior rugby, with Paterson adding: "The Reds have arguably been one of the biggest success stories, with healthy numbers, excellent coaching and management support, and a great atmosphere both on and off the pitch."
Peebles RFC’s next fixture is a Borders League match away to Selkirk on Friday night. Their next league game is at home to Howe of Fife on November 28 with Paterson targeting further success between now and the end of the season.
He said: "With ten league games still to come, there is plenty of rugby left to enjoy. Highland may be the side to catch in the 1st XV league, but our focus is firmly on what happens in our own changing room, on the training pitch and, most importantly, between the white lines.
"This is a tight-knit group that cares deeply about Peebles RFC, and there is no shortage of commitment or ambition. Add in the fantastic support from the sidelines at The Gytes and we have all the ingredients for an entertaining second half of the season. So enjoy the break, recharge the batteries and get ready for the next chapter.”
