Episcopal linebacker Max Ribes chases Dunham quarterback Elijah Haven as he runs in for a touchdown on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Dunham Stadium in St. George, Louisiana.

Move over Brock Berlin, there’s a new leader in Louisiana for most career touchdown passes.

Dunham’s Elijah Haven returned to full action from a shoulder injury and threw four touchdowns to lead the No. 6 Tigers to a 55-6 homecoming victory Friday over District 9-2A rival Episcopal.

It was the fourth touchdown pass to Jarone Harris with 6:12 in the third quarter that catapulted Haven, an Alabama commitment, to the 146th scoring pass of his career, topping the 145 of Berlin who played at Evangel Christian of Shreveport (1997-99).

“It was definitely on my mind,” said Haven, who accounted for 345 yards and five touchdowns, increasing his career totals to 12,893 total yards and a state-record 196 touchdowns. “I tried to keep the team focused as much as I could.

"It was definitely lingering in the back of my mind as I started to get closer to it. It’s a testament to the team, the work we put in together that creates a historic night like this.”

Dunham (5-3, 3-0 in 9-2A) reeled off 48 unanswered points after Episcopal (5-3, 2-1) got within 7-6 on a 3-yard TD run from Luke Dickerson early in the second quarter.

Haven, a consensus five-star quarterback, helped Dunham to a 28-6 halftime with touchdown passes to three different receivers. His 27-yard scoring run was part of his 106-yard rushing night to close the first half.

There were three punts over the first 7½ minutes of the third quarter when Haven drove Dunham 45 yards in four plays for the record-setting score.

With the Tigers facing second-and-10, Haven sat back in the pocket and Harris beat man coverage for a back-shoulder reception near the front pylon for an 18-yard score to make it 35-6 after Max Dixon’s extra point.

“That was actually one of his better passes,” Dunham coach Neil Weiner said. “It’s a drill we work on, recognizing if you have to throw the back shoulder or not. He put a missile on the back shoulder and Jarone made a great catch. It was great coverage. Seeing him do that was awesome.”

Haven acknowledged the crowd after his latest milestone was announced.

“I loved the matchup and I’ll take my guy (Harris) 10 out of 10 times,” said Haven, who was 13 of 19 for 239 yards. “Jarone was able to run a great route and make a great play. Now it’s in the history books.”

Harris had two of Haven’s five touchdowns and finished with three catches for 50 yards.

“I look at Elijah as a friend outside of football,” Harris said. “I’ve been his best friend since sixth grade, so it’s amazing to see what he’s accomplished.”

Haven accounted for all four of his team’s first-half touchdowns, tying Berlin’s mark for a 28-6 halftime lead.

The Tigers scored on three consecutive possessions, two touchdown passes and a run from Haven, with touchdowns to Will Dantin and Harris, sandwiched around Haven’s 27-yard score.

“It’s special,” Weiner said. “It’s special for Dunham to be able to have a young man that’s such a great person and then to be such a phenomenal talent.”
