UAE Team Emirates - XRG's 97 victories in 2025 made history in professional cycling, by far beating the previous victories one team would achieve in a year. Whilst it didn't reach the same number - ending at 78 - the Emirati team has conquered many of the sport's top titles in 2026 with the likes of Tadej Pogacar, Brandon McNulty and Isaac del Toro.
The team still won the team's UCI rankings, as well as the individual rankings with Tadej Pogacar maintaining his spot at the top of the charts comfortably. The team was heavily affected by crashes and injuries all throughout the year, which has hampered its victory tally - most notably, Tadej Pogacar's injuries at the Vuelta a España cast a major shadow over the team's final months of the year.
Pogacar was, nevertheless, UAE's headliner. That has been the case for multiple years, and at the time being no other rider has come close to the Slovenian's level as the decade progresses further. His Grand Tour performances saw no inconsistency in 2026, with the 28-year old winning a record-matching fifth Tour de France.
He was en route to win his first Vuelta a España, comfortably leading when he crashed on the eighth stage of the race. The World Championships, European Championships and Il Lombardia were then also removed from his schedule - all races in which he was the defending champion.
Pogacar won 22 in 2026 nevertheless, despite ending his season in August. Amongst them five stage wins and the GC at the Tour de France; three wins at La Vuelta; GC (and stage) wins at the Tour de Suisse and Tour de Romandie; high-level classics including Milano-Sanremo, Tour of Flanders, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Strade Bianche.
UAE's 78 victories do not take into account one, which is one of the team's most important of the year: Brandon McNulty's World Championships victory in Montréal, Canada. He did so representing the United States of America.
The American rider was a domestique and free role-rider throughout the grand majority of the year, but has marked his year with a breakthrough victory that has provided him with a new rainbow jersey. He has since taken his first win in the new jersey, the team's very last of the year at the Veneto Classic.
2025 was a truly breakthrough year for Isaac del Toro, who this time around performed at the top of the UCI competitions throughout the whole year. But this did not hamper him, as the Mexican arrived at the end of the season with 12 wins nevertheless.
These include stage and GC wins at the UAE Tour, Tirreno-Adriatico, Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Deutschland Tour. Del Toro's winning vein comes as a result of his tremendous climbing ability, consistency but also sprinting ability.
Del Toro was not only a winner all year round in the stage-races, but also at the GP de Montréal - the key race ahead of the World Championships; and also at the Grand Tours. On his very first road stage at the Tour de France, Del Toro wasa winner in Barcelona, a career-changing victory. He finished third and won the youth classification in France.
Amongst Isaac del Toro's many wins in 2026 was the GP de Montréal
The Emirati team did not only perform with its climbers, but classics specialists as well. Capable of winning all-year round and scoring major UCI points, the team has a wide array of classics specialists - from those who perform the short steep climbs to those who enjoy the cobbled. At the end of the year, their influence in the team's tally is major.
Jan Christen and Benoît Cosnefroy have won on five occasions; António Morgado and Jhonatan Narváez have won four times - the latter on three occasions at the Giro d'Italia, the other at the Tour de Suisse; whilst the likes of Ivo Oliveira, Tim Wellens and Nils Politt each contributed with several victories of their own throughout the year.
Whilst not within the category, Julius Johansen's rebirth at World Tour level has also been notable, becoming one of the team's most victorious riders: Taking five wins in total at O Gran Camiño, Boucles de la Mayenne, Sibiu Cycling Tour and Volta a Portugal.
There were more victories from the following riders: Jay Vine, Juan Sebastián Molano, Adam Yates, Igor Arrieta, Rui Oliveira, Adrià Pericas, Felix Grossschartner, Marc Soler and Rune Herregodts. That has left only four riders without victories in 2026, with some major surprises.
Luca Giaimi and Kevin Vermaerke did not win, and were joined by João Almeida. The Portuguese suffered from a viral infection that hampered him from March onwards, effectively rendering his season as virtually over from that period onwards. Florian Vermeersch, former Gravel World Champion, performed very strongly throughout the entire season but also ended it without a victory to his name.
