Drew Scharnowski injury update: Duke basketball forward available for Army

Drew Scharnowski will be active for Duke basketball's season-opener vs. Army on Monday, Nov. 2 at Cameron Indoor Stadium, the program announced.

The Belmont transfer missed the preseason with the Blue Devils while he was "working through" a knee injury. Caleb Foster also missed the first two games of the preseason before returning for the third and final exhibition against Kansas.

Scharnowski transferred to Duke from Belmont in April after earning First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors last season. He also was named to the MVC All-Defensive Team and MVC Most Improved Team.

The 6-foot-10, 240-pound forward from Burlington, Illinois, averaged 10.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 68.1% from the field last season with the Bruins.

Duke enters the 2026-27 season ranked as the No. 2 team in the country. The Blue Devils tip off against the Bruins at 6:30 p.m. ET at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
