The Buffalo Bills finished their Week 8 game against the Baltimore Ravens with their heads held high, taking a 36-10 win.

On the field, the Bills (6-1) looked the part of a winning team. How about off the field after the film has been broken down by NFL analysts across the media landscape?

Here is Bills Wire's roundup of national media power rankings polls following Week 8 and heading into Week 9:

USA TODAY

6. Buffalo Bills (9): They've only failed to score more than 30 points twice this season as rookie HC Joe Brady and QB Josh Allen continue dialing up the hits. But the Bills defense still needs to catch up, giving up at least 30 points four times.

Pro Football Talk

1. Bills (last week No. 1; 6-1): The defense is getting better, but the offense took a little while to get going.

Sunday: Beat Ravens 36-10

Reality check: Their defense might still be bad

Sunday didn’t teach us anything because Baltimore’s top two quarterbacks left the game with injury. Even with the Ravens and their UDFA emergency quarterback averaging 2.9 yards per play, the Bills are 29th in defensive EPA this season (minus-41.92). Luckily, they still have Josh Allen, who had three touchdowns and completed passes to eight receivers.

Week 8 Result: Won vs. Baltimore 36-10

Sunday's blowout win over the Ravens is at least a little misleading—Baltimore was forced to turn to an undrafted rookie quarterback after both Lamar Jackson (thumb) and Tyler Huntley (toe) went down. But elite teams win the games they are supposed to—and the Bills made short work of the undermanned Ravens.

It was a workmanlike effort. Buffalo wasn't great running the ball, averaging just 3.6 yards per carry. But James Cook topped 100 total yards, and both he and Josh Allen found the end zone. A much-maligned Bills defense didn't let the Ravens get anything going—Baltimore had under 150 total yards and turned it over three times.

That defense remains cause for concern, but Buffalo's schedule is manageable over the next few weeks—meetings with the Jets and Dolphins follow next week's trip to Minnesota.

The Bills are clearly the class of the AFC East, and a Week 12 meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs could set Buffalo on a path toward the AFC's No. 1 seed.

CBS Sports

1. Bills (+1)

They lead the league in scoring, which they might need to, in order to win it all with their defense. That offense faces a tough challenge this week against the Vikings.

Previous ranking: 1

Super Bowl odds: +600 (2nd)

It’s OK to be impressed with the Bills’ thorough beatdown of the Ravens this past Sunday and also wonder if things might have been different if Baltimore hadn’t lost Lamar Jackson on its first play from scrimmage. But Josh Allen and Co. did what they had to do, in their usual strong and efficient fashion. They’ve got a tough test in Minnesota on Monday, but that’s just an appetizer for the main course: a Thanksgiving clash with the Chiefs. That’s what everyone is looking forward to now. And it’s probably another playoff preview.

Next game: @ Bills (Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET)

Stat To Know: The Bills are averaging 33.3 points per game through Joe Brady’s first seven games as head coach, the fifth-highest scoring average in NFL history through a head coach’s first seven games.

Best in-season trade acquisition ever: LB Cornelius Bennett in 1987

Dubbed the "Trade of the Decade," the Bills acquired Bennett as part of a 10-player, three-team deal that sent Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson to the Colts. Bennett became a fixture on the Bills' Super Bowl defenses, notching 52.5 sacks and 19 forced fumbles in nine seasons with Buffalo, including three seasons with All-Pro honors. Only Bruce Smith and Darryl Talley have more career tackles in a Bills uniform than Bennett.
