‘Winning mentality becomes contagious’ – Adams revels in Bournemouth’s stellar run

Tyler Adams believes "winning mentality becomes contagious" after Bournemouth secured their seventh consecutive victory with a win over Sparta Prague in the Europa League.

Adams, Evanilson and Rayan all came off the bench as the Cherries came back from a goal down to defeat Sparta 3-1 at epet ARENA.

The home side took the lead through Ebrima Singhateh, but a first-half red card for Tobias Guddal let Bournemouth back into the contest.

Bournemouth have won seven consecutive matches in all competitions for the first time since November 2014, when they were playing in England's second tier.

They are one of three sides in the Europa League still with a 100% record after four games, along with Benfica and Ferencvaros, with the Cherries second in the table.

Adams scored his second goal in major European competition and his first in 20 such appearances, since netting for RB Leipzig against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in August 2020, but he has warned his team-mates not to become complacent.

"Can’t get too comfortable," the Bournemouth midfielder told TNT Sports.

"You have to be able to hold that winning standard, that winning mentality becomes contagious especially when you are playing every three days.

"It doesn’t feel that long ago since we lost 5-1 to Chelsea and that stings a little bit, we don’t want to feel that ever again.

"I think we turned a page and we have been a more mature team ever since that; the way that we defend, the way that we take pride in the mentality of making sure we don’t give the opposition any opportunity to breathe.

"Everyone is working hard every day in training, guys that aren't playing are working hard, the guys that are playing are working hard so there's a lot of competition but that breathes success. I'm happy with the team's performance."
