World title win for Jaxon (10)

A ten-year-old Cowbit kickboxer has been crowned World Champion in his class.

Jaxon Ellis, who is a student at Moulton Chapel Primary School, trains at Inspired Martial Arts in Peterborough.

During half term he and his family flew to Cadiz in Spain with the World Karate Commission to fight in the Kickboxing World Championships representing Team England.

Jaxon spent the last few months training hard for the world championships and had some tough fights against opponents from the USA, Canada, Mexico and other team England fighters, but he smashed his way through his category to be crowned the world champion in points fighting -40kg.

He also brings home a silver medal from his mixed doubles category and two bronze medals for the tag team event and team England event.

This world title adds to the Wako youth European title he achieved last year in Italy representing team GB.

These are two huge international achievements at such a young age, earned through dedication, determination, countless hours of training and an incredible amount of hard work.

Mum Jemma Ellis said: “Jaxon has proudly represented his country on the international stage, and we couldn’t be prouder of what he has achieved so far.

“But this is just the beginning of his journey!

“Jaxon has shown that age is no barrier to ambition, hard work and success.

“With the right support behind him, we hope he can continue to achieve great things and make his country proud.”
