WWE’s plans for a major match on the October 26 episode of RAW could be in trouble after the company raised concerns about Stephanie Vaquer’s medical update.
The former Women’s World Champion was scheduled to face Becky Lynch in a number one contender’s match. However, WWE has removed the bout from its official show preview.
WWE addressed the situation in a social media post, revealing that Vaquer’s status for the show was uncertain. The company also confirmed that General Manager Adam Pearce would provide an update during the broadcast.
“Questions have arisen regarding Stephanie Vaquer’s medical availability heading into #WWERaw, Adam Pearce will address everything on tonight’s show,” WWE wrote.
The announcement has raised questions about whether the main event will go ahead as planned. With the match no longer listed on WWE’s official website, the company may have to change its plans for the show.
Vaquer’s injury has been a concern for the past few weeks. However, she was expected to return to the ring soon.
Despite the injury concerns, the former Women’s Champion competed in two house show matches on October 16 and 17. Positive news surfaced over the weekend when Vaquer said she was fit and ready to face Lynch.
Vaquer and Lynch have been building their rivalry since facing Morgan in a triple threat match at Money in the Bank. Morgan won the match and captured the Women’s World Championship by defeating Stephanie Vaquer.
Both challengers were frustrated with the result. Moreover, Vaquer and Becky Lynch blamed each other for allowing Morgan to clinch the win. Their planned number one contender’s match was supposed to determine who would challenge Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan next.
The episode is scheduled to take place at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.
