Former Formula 1 driver Jos Verstappen is not seriously ill

Jos Verstappen is not seriously ill. Max Verstappen's father made this clear in an Instagram post following online speculation and reports from websites suggesting that something was wrong with the former F1 driver.

Jos Verstappen appeared in a Viaplay segment this past weekend. Someone took a still image from the video and clearly edited it. This AI-generated image, which showed a fake Jos Verstappen looking unwell, was then widely shared on social media. One 'news site' even published the fake image as if it were real.

Anyone who had seen the Viaplay video knew the image was fake. Still, the former F1 driver felt this was reason enough to post on Instagram that nothing was wrong with him. "I'm doing just fine. I'm not ill, just having a bad hair day," he wrote in the caption.

It is unclear whether Verstappen Sr will take any further action against the people who made the fake image or the media outlets that tried to score points at his expense with the edited photo.
