World No 1 Alexander Zverev is the top seed at the 2026 Rolex Paris Masters, which runs from 31 October to 8 November at the Plenitude Arena (ex-Paris La Défense Arena). Defending champion Jannik Sinner has withdrawn. Carlos Alcaraz is seeded second, and Novak Djokovic, a seven-time champion, opens against Valentin Vacherot.
Withdrawals: Jannik Sinner (right knee), Félix Auger-Aliassime (knee), Joao Fonseca, Alexander Bublik and Jakub Mensik. They have been replaced by Daniel Merida, Matteo Berrettini, Luca Van Assche, Mariano Navone and Quentin Halys respectively.
Wildcards: Titouan Droguet, Arthur Gea, Kyrian Jacquet and Moise Kouame (all FRA). Special exempt: Jan-Lennard Struff. Holger Rune is in on a protected ranking.
Djokovic, seeded outside the top eight, starts in the first round against Vacherot. If the seedings hold, he would face de Minaur in the third round and Zverev in the quarter-finals.
Paul v Rune, the 2022 champion, is one of the stand-out first-round matches.
Fils’s participation is in doubt: he retired from his Basel quarter-final against Fritz on 30 October with leg pain.
Zverev and Alcaraz are in opposite halves and can only meet in the final.
Zverev, the 2024 champion, starts the tournament at the top of the rankings after a season that brought him the Roland-Garros and US Open titles. The tournament will mark his rise to No 1 with an ATP ceremony. “There’s no such thing as being world No 1 by default,” said tournament director Cédric Pioline
The record seven-time champion returns after two years away and plays at the new venue for the first time.
Paris is the last Masters 1000 before the Nitto ATP Finals (15–22 November). Zverev, Alcaraz, Shelton and Medvedev have secured their places, and the last spots are expected to be decided in Paris. Fils is among the players still in the running.
Fils (seed No.6), Van Assche, Rinderknech, Humbert, Halys and the four wildcards, Gea, Jacquet, Droguet and Kouame, carry home hopes. Rinderknech and Kouame both open against seeds.
Twenty-eight players compete for seven main-draw places on 31 October and 1 November. Sebastian Baez is the top seed and Tallon Griekspoor second. Wildcards went to Hugo Gaston, Benjamin Bonzi, Felix Balshaw and Grigor Dimitrov. Two qualifying matches are played on Centre Court each day and streamed live on the tournament’s YouTube channel.
