Packers first injury report of Week 9: Micah Parsons returns

The Green Bay Packers released the team's first injury report of Week 9 on Wednesday. The team will release two more injury reports, including a final injury report on Friday with official playing status designations, before facing the New England Patriots in Week 9 of the 2026 season on Sunday.

The big news from Wednesday: Micah Parsons is back. So is Chris Brooks. Both players practiced on Wednesday, opening their 21-day practice windows. Parsons won't play Sunday against the Patriots, but he took a big step in the final stages of his return-to-play process. Brooks could return after missing four games with an ankle injury.

The Packers are dealing with three new injuries to open the week, although Josh Whyle was the only player with a new injury who couldn't practice on Wednesday. He is in concussion protocol.

Here’s everything to know from the week's first injury report:

Big things to know

-- Left guard Aaron Banks is no longer listed with a toe injury, but he was limited on Wednesday with the lingering knee tendonitis. Keep an eye on his status the rest of the week. He was a full participant last Wednesday.

-- Cornerback Keisean Nixon, who was a late add to the injury report with a shoulder injury last week, now has a groin injury. He had a minor groin issue earlier in the season.

-- Linebacker Zaire Franklin, guard Travis Glover and center Sean Rhyan didn't practice on Wednesday after missing Thursday night's win over the Panthers. Rhyan is not expected to play, while Franklin and Glover appear to be in danger of missing another game.

-- Receiver Christian Watson practiced through the rib injury that sent him to the hospital for precautionary testing last Thursday night.

-- Defensive lineman Anthony Campbell, edge rusher Brenton Cox Jr., receiver Matthew Golden, cornerback Benjamin St-Juste and defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt are all off the injury report after appearing on the report in Week 8.

-- The Patriots have some big injuries to monitor. Brown, Barmore, Henderson and Henry are all key contributors for Mike Vrabel's team. Brown and Henderson didn't play last week, while Henry injured his foot on Sunday. Former Packers receiver Romeo Doubs is on injured reserve and won't play Sunday.
