The Seattle Seahawks have drawn criticism from Taylor Swift's fanbase following a social media post that appeared to target the global superstar after their victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
Following their commanding 20-3 triumph over the Chiefs during Sunday Night Football, the Seahawks posted what many perceived as a jab at Swift. The franchise shared an image of two friendship bracelets displaying "Seahawks win" accompanied by the caption "End Game", a nod to Swift's track from her Reputation album.
These bracelets became iconic during Swift's Eras Tour, where concert-goers created and traded them as tokens of fandom. The accessory trend also factored into Swift's romance with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who showed up at one of her performances in July 2023 hoping to present her with a bracelet bearing his number.
Though Kelce didn't manage to hand over the bracelet that evening, the couple began their relationship two months later and tied the knot in July 2026.
While certain observers dismissed the post as lighthearted ribbing, others took issue with the Seahawks' seeming shot at Swift. The NFL organization encountered substantial pushback across social platforms, with devoted Swifties condemning the team for showing disrespect toward the artist.
One supporter posted on X: "The disrespect is why I hate other teams, make it a chief pun, but why Taylor why a spouse, they wouldn't make fun of Claire Kittle or Kelly Stratford so why is this okay?
"Celebrate your players. You have been waiting for this moment to use Taylor for clout. May you never win again," added another user. "I didn't realize Taylor was playing. Sadly for you, Tayvoodoo is guaranteed" a third person said.
"Your social media team is misogynistic trash," a fourth fan wrote. "Last time I checked, Taylor was getting ready to to be inducted into her second hall of fame tomorrow, not on the field playing your team. Travis is a good guy whom most of the NFL respects."
Swift has consistently attended Kelce's home games this season but has yet to appear at any of the Chiefs' away fixtures. She also largely skipped road games last season, with security concerns reportedly influencing her decision.
On the field, Seattle's defense limited Kansas City to just 3 points and 213 total yards in Sunday's 20-3 triumph. According to ESPN Research, the Chiefs' point total marked their lowest in a game started by Patrick Mahomes since Week 7 of the 2021 season.
Mahomes struggled throughout, throwing for 165 yards and an interception, while Kenneth Walker III mustered just 36 yards on 14 carries. The running back, who earned Super Bowl MVP honors with Seattle last season before moving to Kansas City in the offseason, had been averaging a league-leading 133 rushing yards per game entering the matchup.
Nevertheless, the Seahawks neutralized Walker and shut down the Chiefs' offense throughout the 20-3 win, restricting Kansas City to 213 total yards, including merely 50 on the ground. Kansas City coach Andy Reid took ownership of the team's shortcomings across the board, stating: "Listen, all three phases we struggled, so we've got to do better, and that's my responsibility," adding, "So I take full responsibility for this. We've got to play better as a team."
