The total money Jon Rahm made on LIV Golf compared to Scottie Scheffler over the same time

Jon Rahm’s LIV Golf tenure is over, as the two-time major winner is returning to the DP World Tour next season.

Rahm left the PGA Tour for LIV as a contender for the world number-one spot, after winning The Masters and claiming three PGA Tour victories in 2023. Since joining LIV, he’s won three straight individual titles, but hasn’t contended for a major and is now in the worst form of his professional career.

LIV gave Rahm an eye-watering contract to lure him away from the PGA Tour. He signed a $350 million deal, which many see as justification for putting his career on hold. But LIV Golf is now bankrupt, and Rahm didn’t see all of that money.

In fact, in 2026, Rahm made less money than Scottie Scheffler, who stayed loyal to the PGA Tour all these years.

Rahm had to give up a significant amount of money to get out of his LIV contract, but his 2026 earnings show that joining really wasn’t worth it.

LIV’s bankruptcy filings show Rahm received $26.5 million from the tour last season. That’s still a significant amount of money, but compared to Scottie Scheffler’s earnings last year, it’s hardly worth spending the season on a largely irrelevant tour.

Scheffler took home $30.9 million in prize money in 20 starts on the PGA Tour, helped by the $10 million he earned by winning the Tour Championship. He stayed loyal to the PGA Tour and still earned more than Rahm this season.

How costly has Jon Rahm's decision to join LIV Golf been for his career? His lawyer has announced he will not be involved with LIV 2.0

Scheffler and Rahm were vying for the world number one spot in 2023. Rahm won two majors to Scheffler’s one and finished the season with more wins. But since he left, Scheffler had entered a new stratosphere, winning three majors and 13 times on the PGA Tour. Rahm has been uncompetitive on the major stage since then and is now ranked 15th in the world.

There’s no argument that Rahm’s decision to join LIV was a success, and he now must spend a year on the DP World Tour just to return to the PGA Tour and contend with Scheffler again. And that’s only if he can get his form out of the gutter.
