‘Ultimate Cheat Code,’ ‘No Team The Bears Can’t Beat’ — NFL Analysts Fully Sold as Chicago Makes a Statement With MNF Win Over Seahawks

After taking down the New England Patriots, the Chicago Bears followed it up with a 34-17 win over the defending champion Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football, making it clear that they’re firing on all cylinders and ready to take the league by storm.

The Bears now sit at 6-2, marking their best start to a season since 2012. What makes the Bears’ rise even more incredible is that several analysts are no longer simply praising their progress. Instead, some analysts are already making bold Super Bowl predictions about a Bears team that is very much on the up.

Bears Earn Major Recognition from Analysts After Beating Seahawks

The Bears delivered an incredible performance against Seattle’s defense, opening the game with a 17-play drive that put them ahead early. Chicago’s offense ultimately finished with 363 total yards against the Seahawks’ defense, which had allowed 301 or fewer yards in each of their first seven games.

Chicago’s defense was just as effective, holding the Seahawks to 252 total yards while limiting them to just one successful conversion on 11 third-down attempts.

Seeing Chicago’s string of performances, PFN analyst Kyle Soppe believes the team has established itself as a serious threat in the NFC.

“They are the favorite to win the division and can certainly run the table,” Soppe wrote. “I’ll stop short of calling them the favorite, but this is the best win on the board to date, and that’s saying something for a team that put 59 points on the board in Week 1.”

Deputy editor Alex Kennedy is also convinced about Chicago’s position in the NFC.

“What a statement win for the Bears,” Kennedy said. “I think Chicago is the best team in the NFC because they are super well-rounded with a terrific head coach and a superstar QB on a rookie deal (which is the ultimate cheat code in the NFL).

“I loved the Jeffery Simmons trade because it addressed their biggest need, and it shows that this team is all-in on contending for a Super Bowl right now.”

PFN analyst Jacob Infante also had high praise for Chicago and labeled Ben Johnson’s team a “legitimate Super Bowl contender.”

“They already had one of the best offenses in the NFL, as well as one of the best head coaches,” Infante said. “Now, they’ve added an elite interior presence in Jeffery Simmons to their defense, and he made an impact in his first game with the team.

“They might look to make a move to address their secondary, but even with some inconsistency at cornerback, there’s no team in the NFL that the Bears can’t beat.”

Chicago quarterback Caleb Williams played a big role in the win, throwing for 247 yards. Before facing Williams, no opposing quarterback had managed to throw for more than 176 yards against the Seahawks. Williams avoided turnovers in the game, was sacked only once, and currently ranks No. 6 in PFN QB Impact with an 84.0 grade.

Running back D’Andre Swift contributed 69 rushing yards on 27 carries while finding the end zone three times. Meanwhile, Jeffery Simmons tied for the team lead with six tackles and a sack.

Having defeated both participants from last season’s Super Bowl in consecutive weeks, Chicago has now strengthened its case as one of the NFL’s most dangerous teams.

PFN analyst Jason Katz believes the latest victory has changed how the Bears should be viewed across the league.

“Last year, Ben Johnson immediately proved his team was a contender, but they were never quite viewed as a serious threat to win the Super Bowl,” Katz said. “After this convincing win over a team that essentially blanked Patrick Mahomes, they solidified themselves in that upper echelon of teams. The Bears are here to stay.”

PFN analyst Brandon Austin also praised the Bears’ emergence among the NFC’s elite.

“Ben Johnson is legit, and so is his offense,” Austin said. “Jeffery Simmons is one of the game’s true game-changers on the defensive line, and his impact was on full display tonight. Chicago is the most complete team in the NFC North, and they have what it takes to hang with anybody in the league.”

Chicago will look to build on that momentum when it takes on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football in what will be their third straight primetime matchup.
