Jadon Sancho left Manchester United as a free agent this summer, with the club failing in their attempts to move him onto Aston Villa and Chelsea

Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho has been offered a contract of around £10,000-per-week by Getafe as he scours the market for his next club. The 26-year-old may have dominated with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga during his formative years in the professional game, but failed to live up to expectations at Old Trafford.

United secured the winger in a £73million package deal in 2021, but to simply say that the Camberwell-born talent failed to live up to expectations would be an understatement. Sancho managed just three goals and assists a-piece in his maiden season on English soil, before managing six and three in 26 appearances across 2022/23.

Sancho found himself returning to Dortmund on loan the following season, but ultimately failed to rediscover his previous form in the Bundesliga. Another loan spell to Chelsea then ensued in 2024/25, with the west London club holding a £25m obligation to take him on permanently the following summer.

After a dismal spell in the capital, Chelsea ultimately refused to do so, instead paying a £5m fine to send Sancho back to Greater Manchester. Another season-long loan to Aston Villa then landed Sancho's way last term, with the Villans holding no desire to sign the player at the end of which.

As a result, Sancho was released by United this summer, and has remained a free agent since. That could soon change, however, with a number of clubs linked with offering the versatile forward a contract.

Finding the same wages as the staggering £250,000-per-week he reportedly saw during his Manchester United days, however, seems incredibly unlikely. As per the Telegraph, Getafe have offered Sancho a contract until the end of the season, looking to pay him just £10,000-per-week.

While Sancho hasn't entirely ruled out a move to the La Liga side, it is claimed that he wishes to meet head coach Jose Bordalas before making a decision on the offer.

At the time of writing, Getafe sit 15th in the Spanish top flight, having managed just two wins from their opening nine games of the campaign.

Bordalas has also not had the easiest ride with the club as of late. Appointed in 2023, 'Pepe' has publicly lambasted Getafe's hierarchy this season as a result of limited squad depth.

That's despite previously voicing concerns regarding his first-team's ability to compete at the highest levels every three days - with La Liga and Conference League action to navigate.

He told the media: "I feel deceived because what has been promised year after year hasn't been fulfilled. I'm angry. I've been warning about this since May, that it was going to be a very difficult season with matches every three days. It's been proven that we don't have the squad for it."

Now, club president Angel Torres, has told him he knows where the door is if he wishes to leave. Speaking with Cadena SER, Torres said: "He signed because he wanted to. Anyway, he's free to leave. If we're so bad, what can we do? This is Getafe.

"What I don't understand is what you're doing here if you're unhappy and I already knew it. To say that I deceived him...you have to be as shameless as stone to tell me, after 30 years, that I deceived him.

"But well, what he needs to do is respect the players, just as the players respect him."
