United's top brass are considering sacking Michael Carrick but are yet to pull the trigger because they haven't agreed on a replacement.
That's according to respected journalist Romain Molina, who says that opinions are split in the boardroom.
Director of football Jason Wilcox is reportedly keen to appoint Eddie Howe, while recruitment head Christopher Vivell would favour Julian Nagelsmann.
However, it's claimed that Wilcox's opinion would likely hold more weight with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who is in charge of United's football operations.
