Darts prodigy Archie Self has broken Luke Littler's record to become the youngest player ever to hit a televised nine-darter finish. The 16-year-old has placed his name in the record books after achieving the feat during the MODUS Super Series.
Self notched up a fantastic start to proceedings by producing an exquisite opening nine darts in the first leg of his match against Danny Ayres, on his way to an eventual victory. The youngster left the commentators in awe, having already gone close during Champions Week.
"Yes, young man, it's nine, it's the nine," said Pluto TV's commentator. "He's done everything else this week but he brings home the nine-darter in Champions Week. What a player, what a shot."

Littler secured his first televised nine-dart checkout just days before his 17th birthday, and Self has managed to claim it just three weeks from being legally allowed to learn to drive.
The Archer has established himself as one of the sport's top prospects competing across the JDC, PDC, ADC, and MODUS circuits. At 15 he won the WDF World Youth title.
Self's PDC Players Championship debut came in August against Luke Littler. While he lost to the Nuke, he went on to push Keane Barry to a deciding leg.

The young talent's first PDC ProTour win arrived in September against Pero Ljubic. Self recorded 98+ average before going on to beat Karel Sedlacek in the second round of the Players Championship in Den Bosch before losing narrowly to William O'Connor.
It was not long until Self got his first piece of silverware as he then claimed his maiden PDC Development Tour title with a 5-2 victory over Sam Jackson earlier this month, once again averaging more than 90 (91.64).
Self is set for a place inSaturday's Champions Week Finale this weekend with a healthy lead at the top of Group A after 15 matches. The teenager has racked up a 13-2 record against the likes of Derek Coulson, Andy Baetens and David Davies, and averaged 99.77, more than five higher than his nearest rival
