Arsenal wonderkid Max Dowman has been tipped to go to Euro 2028 with England, with David Seaman describing the teenager as a "special talent".
The 16-year-old does not turn 17 until December 31 but has already signed a pre-contract agreement regarding the terms of his first professional deal with the Premier League champions. Dowman first started training with Arsenal’s first team at the age of 14 and made his debut off the bench against Leeds in August 2025, when he won a penalty.
He started the 4-2 EFL Cup win over Ipswich Town last month, scoring twice, and also appeared off the bench against Brighton in the Premier League and Lille in the Champions League.
Arsenal legend Seaman, speaking to Betway, believes Dowman will kick-on over the next 18 months and predicts the Hale Ender will be pushing to go to Euro 2028 with England. The former goalkeeper did, however, issue a double warning with the likes of Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke ahead of him in the pecking order.
"Honestly, I’ve seen him train, I’ve seen him play, and when you see him on that football pitch he looks like a man," Seaman said. "He’s a special talent. When you see him off the pitch you remember that he’s still just 16.

"But that’s the beauty of it –he is still just 16, but he’s playing like a man, and he must already be close to getting in that England squad. You’ve got to be careful about how much game time he is getting, because as good as he is, he still needs to like to come on and have an effect as a sub.
"Mikel [Arteta] is managing that perfectly because he’s with him in training day in, day out, and he knows what he’s got. Sometimes he’ll drop down into like the under-21s or the under-18s, so his development is being looked after really well.
"In a few years’ time he’s definitely going to be up there because he’s just so special. The only thing is he’s got so much talent in front of him in that position, with Noni [Madueke] and Bukayo [Saka], but we all know what he’s capable of."

The England U19 international is already widely regarded as one of the best young prospects in all of world football but he is yet to make his senior debut for his country. Thomas Tuchel is aware of the teen's talents and was asked about the youngster after his remarkable solo goal against Everton in March.
"He put himself in the spotlight with this amazing goal against Everton," Tuchel said earlier this year. "I think he is at the moment, obviously a fantastic talent and an outstanding talent. At this age, there cannot be a doubt about it.
"Everyone who tells me about Max, praises him and is full of compliments. The reality is at the moment he competes for minutes. He is not a regular starter for Arsenal. I think he is in a fantastic environment, the best possible: in a competitive club, a stable club, a club where teamwork is the number one rule. This is how they play, how they function. He learns from the very best environment.
"With these young guys, of course we know all these players. We see them as you do as well. At the moment I think he is in a good place to fight for his minutes at Arsenal. We always have the chance to call him maybe up for the World Cup.
"The thing with young players to keep the momentum maybe going, keep their excitement. They have a level of fearlessness with them. There is no need to call him up now and increase the pressure and increase all the noise that comes with it but we have all options."
