Leeds United and AFC Bournemouth could bring AS Monaco’s Mika Biereth to the Premier League and offer him an escape route in the winter market.
The striker’s difficult situation at the Ligue 1 side hasn’t put off both Leeds United and Bournemouth.
Biereth started his career in England at Fulham’s academy and left them for Arsenal in 2021. A year later, he made it to the Gunners’ first team but didn’t make an appearance for them.
While at Arsenal, the 23-year-old went out on loan before leaving them permanently for Sturm Graz in 2024.
In September 2025, the England-born Denmark international said he could have played for Arsenal had he not left them permanently.
He said: “I didn’t follow it that much, but I know that Kai Havertz was injured, and if I had still been there, I could have played for Arsenal.”

His performances for the Austrian club convinced AS Monaco to secure his services in January 2025. Mika Biereth finished the second half of the 2024/25 season with 13 goals and three assists in 19 matches.
Last season, the frontman played 1,420 minutes in 43 matches, managing five goals and two assists. Filipe Luís joined the Ligue 1 side in July and has limited the Dane to only 173 minutes in five matches this season.
Leeds United and AFC Bournemouth can offer him an escape route and bring him back to England in January.
In July 2025, AS Monaco handed Mika Biereth an extension until 2030. However, after a difficult start to the season, Foot en France states that the possibility of moving elsewhere in January is ‘gaining traction’.
Filipe Luís has left him out of his core plans. As things stand, the attacker is ‘heading towards’ AS Monaco’s exit door in the next window.
He’s not short of options as the report’s title says both Leeds United and Bournemouth are keen. Within the report, the two English clubs are named and will face competition from unnamed Bundesliga sides.
Both Daniel Farke’s side and the Cherries can take advantage of his situation at Monaco to secure his services. For now, there is only ‘initial assessment’ to find out the terms of the transfer as there isn’t ‘anything concrete’.
The next few weeks should provide clarity on whether Leeds United or Bournemouth will make further advances.
