Retour
There might be yet more bad injury news for AC Milan and Rubem Amorim to digest as Ruben Loftus-Cheek was forced off against Bournemouth.
Loftus-Cheek’s return to England was not a successful one, and not just because of the scoreline, which saw Milan lose 3-0 to the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium. Penalties from Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier set the tone, before Amine Adli’s late free-kick, and Mike Maignan also saw red.
As he did last week against RB Salzburg, Amorim chose Loftus-Cheek to start yesterday’s match against Bournemouth. The English midfielder, despite the home atmosphere, didn’t put in a good performance, but neither did the rest of the team given they played over an hour with 10 men.
When RLC was withdrawn at the break it was thought to be a technical decision at first, but instead, as Amorim revealed post-match and as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) this morning , the Englishman suffered a problem.
Specifically, as learned this morning by the editorial staff of MilanNews, the former Chelsea and Fulham man has suffered a knee problem after suffering a knock to the back of the joint. It is not yet clear whether this will have any consequences on the midfielder’s availability for Sunday.
