NFL insider says Chiefs are 'calling around' for help at key position

During an October 26 appearance on 'The Aftermath,' NFL insider Jeremy Fowler said that the Kansas City Chiefs have been "calling around" about acquiring a new wide receiver after their Week 7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on 'Sunday Night Football.'

Kansas City's 20-3 defeat at the hands of Seattle marked their first loss of the 2026 regular season and laid bare the Chiefs' lack of depth at the wide receiver position in the wake of injuries to veteran pass-catchers Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton.

Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes struggled to get Kansas City's offense in gear against the Seahawks, completing just 19 of his 33 pass attempts for 165 yards and one interception.

Chiefs wideouts Xavier Worthy, Justin Watson, Cyrus Allen, and Andrew Armstrong only tallied a combined 39 yards on six receptions in Kansas City's loss to Seattle. Second-year receiver Jalen Royals was targeted twice but failed to record a catch in Week 7.
