The Golden State Warriors have signed, drafted, and traded for players from nearly every U.S. state and many countries around the world. From Alaska to Wyoming and Austria to Zaire, the Warriors have a strong history of seeking out talent necessary for NBA success.
Since their beginnings in the Basketball Association of America (a precursor to the NBA) when they got their start as the team representing Philadelphia before they made their move to the West Coast, the organization has consistently pursued talent from a broad range of sources.
For this installment of our series taking stock of the birthplace of every Golden State player to suit up for the franchise, let's take a look at every player from California who has played for the Warriors.
Our focus in this article is Lou Amundson. An alum of UNLV, he went unselected in the 2006 NBA Draft, playing in other leagues until he signed with the Utah Jazz in 2007.
The Ventura, California native played the first season of his pro career with the Jazz. He also played for the Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns before he signed with the Golden State Warriors in 2010. His stay with the team lasted until he was dealt to the Indiana Pacers in 2011.
During his time suiting up for the Warriors, Amundson put up 4.3 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
