Nick Sirianni: Eagles will stick with Tanner McKee, Sean Mannion despite offensive woes

The Eagles have lost six in a row and rank 30th in the NFL in points per game, but Nick Sirianni said Monday that he isn’t making a change at offensive coordinator or quarterback.

Sean Mannion will continue to call plays, and Tanner McKee will remain the starting quarterback with Jalen Hurts out for the year.

“I’m not making any changes there,” Sirianni said about his coaching staff, via Tim McManus of ESPN. “It is on all of us to figure out how to get things going in the right direction. Obviously, right now they’re not. But again, this is the ultimate team game, and we’re in the problem-solving business. Right now, we have to find answers to help us get going offensively. Again, that brunt falls on myself; that falls on Sean; and we’re going to do everything we can to get ourselves out of this.”

The first-year playcaller has had to make do without Hurts, right tackle Lane Johnson, center Cam Jurgens, running back Saquon Barkley and wide receivers DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks at times this season. Hurts played five games before going on injured reserve with blood clots; Johnson retired after three games; Jurgens played four games with the Eagles before a trade to the Ravens; Barkley has missed two games and been limited in others with injuries; Smith has missed four games with a hamstring injury; and Wicks has missed two games with an ankle injury.

The Eagles are averaging 17.1 points a game.

McKee has started the past three games, completing 63.2 percent of his passes for 639 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

“Tanner’s our guy. We’re not making any changes there,” Sirianni said. “Again, how do we find solutions? That could be within scheme; that could be within how our schedule is, practice plays. Everything’s on the table for us in that aspect. But right now, this is where we are, and we’re trying to find solutions there. We’re looking at everything as far as what we can do differently as coaches.”

McKee’s backup, Joe Milton, only arrived in Philadelphia on Oct. 16, signing from the Cowboys’ practice squad.
