Benavidez, the WBO and WBA cruiserweight champion, is set to make his final appearance under his current promotional agreement on December 12, when he takes on WBC titleholder Michal Cieslak in Phoenix, Arizona.

"I'm going to sign a three-fight contract after this fight [with Cieslak]," Benavidez told The Last Stand Podcast.

"We're talking about [Jai] Opetaia, we're talking about [Artur] Beterbiev, and then we are maybe talking about [Oleksandr] Usyk.

"So those fights [Opetaia and Beterbiev] are going to be at cruiserweight, and I'm a little bit confused about the one with Usyk.

"That might either be at cruiserweight or heavyweight.”

Rumors are swirling that Benavidez will be the next big-name signing for Zuffa Boxing, the burgeoning promotional group that represents Opetaia and is known to have held recent talks with Usyk.

"Those are three great fights that need to happen, and they are going to happen,” Benavidez continued.

"I'm not just here saying I'm going to fight these guys and then I never fight them.

"I'm going to fight these guys because this is who I want to fight.

"I want Opetaia, I want Beterbiev and I want Usyk."
