O’Shaquie Foster Reveals Shakur Stevenson Vanished After Ring Stunt

Shakur Stevenson gathered all the buzz for a potential O’Shaquie Foster bout without stepping into the ring. By stepping through the ropes following Foster’s win over Raymond Ford in May, Stevenson ignited major public anticipation. Yet Foster reveals his team pushed for the bout, waited, and met total silence.

That recent past demands a sharper look at Stevenson’s latest words. Foster just took down Emanuel Navarrete, and Stevenson quickly voiced fresh interest. Boxing enthusiasts ought to pause before celebrating, keeping Foster’s prior experience in mind.

“We kept asking. We didn’t hear nothing. We didn’t hear nothing,” Foster said on the Ariel Helwani show. “We held out for a little bit. We didn’t hear nothing. Tyrone didn’t hear nothing.”

Foster explained that talks never progressed to discussing weight classes. He expressed total readiness to step up to lightweight or junior welterweight, clearing away a major hurdle for a 130-pound titleholder looking upward.

“We didn’t even get that far, but I didn’t care,” Foster noted. “Like, I honestly didn’t care whether it was 135, 140. Either one. It didn’t matter to me.”

It looked like pure clout chasing from Shakur, plain and simple. Walking into another man’s spotlight right after a hard-earned victory creates the illusion that you want the fight next. Fans get excited, the broadcast cameras lock onto you, and you get all the free publicity without taking an ounce of risk. Then, the second Foster’s camp actually reached out to make the fight happen, Shakur vanished into thin air. Total silence.

Once Foster beat Navarrete, Stevenson offered public compliments along with a fresh challenge.

“Hell of a fighter. He will never give me my credit, but I’ll be real tonight. He showed his level,” Stevenson stated in a social post read on air. “That’s a challenge that would get me out of bed. Let’s do it whenever he’s ready. I’ll be here after his undisputed run.”

That is what makes Stevenson’s latest comment after Foster beat Navarrete look so empty. Saying he will fight Foster “whenever he’s ready” completely flips the reality of what happened. Foster was ready months ago, even offering to jump up in weight to make it effortless for Stevenson. Shakur was the one who went missing.

For now, Foster’s sights remain locked on unifying all four belts at 130 pounds. Chasing undisputed status puts Foster in control rather than hanging on Shakur’s schedule. Foster can hunt the remaining belt while Stevenson figures out whether his online comments translate into real business.
