Wisbech Town Reserves bounced back from last week’s disappointing performance with an emphatic 6-0 victory away at Isleham in Senior A.
Manager Brandon Ramdharry made five changes to his starting line-up, alongside a tactical reshuffle, and the response was impressive.
Wisbech made the perfect start when J. Goult headed home K. Smith’s corner to open the scoring.
However, Isleham remained competitive throughout the first half, creating several opportunities.
Substitute B. Porter, replacing injured captain B. Fowler, produced a crucial goal-line clearance to preserve Wisbech’s slender advantage at the break.
The visitors emerged revitalised after half-time, with M. Zulu doubling their lead following excellent work from T. Hoyle.
M. Barrett soon added a third, converting A. Matos’ delivery, before turning provider as M. Farauanu headed home Wisbech’s fourth.
The goals continued flowing as substitute S. Smith finished confidently after being released by Hoyle, who then completed an impressive creative display by setting up K. Smith for the sixth.
Despite the scoreline, Isleham continued battling, but Wisbech’s defensive organisation and clinical finishing proved decisive.
Ramdharry praised his side’s all-round performance, saying: “We scored some superb goals today and defended incredibly well. To have six different goalscorers shows the levels we have when we flow.
“We know this is the standard, but we need to make sure we find a rhythm of results now.”
