Chelsea were beaten by London rivals Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in their Premier League clash on Saturday evening.
Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders conceded an own goal after punching the ball into his own net in the 77th minute, before Mathys Tel's 20 yard-low driven strike into the bottom corner secured Spurs all three points on the day.
It was a poor display from Xabi Alonso's Chelsea side, and matters were made a lot worse after Cole Palmer was sent off in the 80th minute, getting a second yellow card minutes after an off-the-ball clash with Spurs midfielder Mateus Fernandes.
Following Palmer's dismissal, uncertainty loomed over what game exactly the attacker would be missing. There was extra worry from Chelsea, considering that their next game in the league comes against Manchester United on Saturday, October 31.
Following an official statement from the Premier League, it is now clear which game Palmer will be unavailable for.
With upcoming games midweek in the EFL Cup, fans were unsure whether Palmer, considered one of the best players in the Premier League, would serve his suspension in the competition as his side face Liverpool in the fourth round. Many originally believed he would be missing the next Premier League game against Manchester United.
Now, following the confusion, the Premier League issued a statement in which they said: "Cole Palmer will not miss any Premier League matches. Instead, he will serve his suspension when Chelsea visit Liverpool in the fourth round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday."
For Palmer and Chelsea, it means that the Englishman can feature in the Blues' next Premier League game against Manchester United. It will, however, mean he misses a cup fixture against Liverpool, but it could be seen as a let-off for Xabi Alonso, who may opt to focus more on his side's Premier League form this season.

Chelsea are no stranger to red cards, picking up more than any other side since the start of last season. Alonso has previously spoken about the need for his side to become more disciplined and cut the red cards out of their game, but Palmer's antics appeared to show that their discipline isn't completely under control just yet.
Speaking after the game, Alonso was asked whether he thought the decision to send Palmer off was correct, to which he replied: "Absolutely. I've not seen it yet, but I've been told it's right."
He continued: "We think that up until now, we haven't received any red cards this season, and we need to continue that way because we need to have this maturity to deal with difficult moments.
"When you have conceded 1-0, probably there were 15–20 minutes to go, so we have to be on the way. I need to check the action to talk with Cole, but it is one to learn for the future for sure."
It won't make it better for Alonso considering how it happened, with Palmer first picking up a yellow for lashing out at Mateus Fernandes, an incident which Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi believed to be enough to be a straight red.
