Although Cameron Boozer struggled to shoot the ball during his NBA debut, he still impacted winning, something the recent No. 3 overall pick has done at every level he's played at. Following his first game as a professional, Memphis Grizzlies head coach Tuomas Iisalo spoke about Boozer's impact, saying, "Typical Cam Boozer night, he shot 2-for-15 and plus-32 (plus-minus)."
"I thought he did a great job with the rebounding; he had 11 rebounds, five assists, his defense on Markkannen (Lauri) was very impressive. These are the things that I talk about with him that its easy to forget. The kid is 19 (years old). The kid is 19, and he's making big-time plays offensively and defensively that take other guys in the league 10 years to figure out."
Boozer, who helped the Grizzlies earn a 20-point victory over the Utah Jazz, will return to action Friday, as Memphis travels to Golden State to face Stephen Curry and the Warriors. Then, he'll go head-to-head with his college rival and recent No. 11 overall pick Yaxel Lendeborg, who he faced in the summer league finals.
